Our family has only been part of The Academy for less than a year now, but we have been thoroughly impressed from day one. Communication about schedules, fees, policies, etc. has been clear and timely. Several class times are available at each skill level for flexibility and convenience. What truly sets this place apart from other martial arts places we have trialed is the interactions with the students. My son started as a Little Ninja and I was blown away by how well the instructors interact with the kids. Imagine managing 20-30 excited little kids and holding their attention for 30 minutes! They set firm expectations while maintaining a fun learning environment. They know each child and greet them by name before every single class. Though my son is taking a brief hiatus from martial arts to focus on his swimming lessons, we know he will be back. My teen daughter also joined the teen/adult class and has found herself surrounded by an amazing group of talented and hard working people. The black belts in the class are as helpful and patient as the instructors, so she never felt self-conscious about being new and she has grown a lot in her short time here. The values instilled in each class are important for everyday life, and we are extremely grateful to be part of this community.

We attended our son's school carnival and The Academy was there and he had the opportunity to break a board and that was it, he never looked back. He's now halfway to his black belt and absolutely loves going. The staff are amazing, the instructors are amazing and the core lessons they teach are priceless. As parents it's so awesome to see your kid do something they love and see such commitment and effort from both the students and the instructors. Also, all the family events that The Academy offers throughout the year makes the whole experience even more enjoyable! It's been worth the financial and time commitment to watch our son grow in confidence and respect for those around him.

The Academy is such a great place to grow kids, physically and emotionally. We are so thankful for the excellent teachers and staff, who are well-trained and able to work with kids of various abilities. My son practices at home, and really looks up to his instructors. The curriculum continuously takes him to new levels in his skills and confidence. The Academy also holds group events and charitable fundraisers, both of which build community, on and off the dojo.

Our boys started here almost a year and a half ago and our family just loves this place. They just do things so well here from the owners to their staff and especially the instructors. As a whole the Academy family are very active in the community supporting numerous charities and encouraging their students/families to do the same. Their instructors are super impressive, not only are they very talented martial artists but they use their talents and abilities to be inspiring in the best ways to their students. They set such a great example for them because they actually don’t just talk the talk they have all been exactly where their students are because they all started there when they were kids. Start your kids and/or family here and you won’t be disappointed.

My daughter has been taking karate at the Academy for over a year now & we absolutely love it here! She started as an orange belt and is currently at a blue belt. The instructors are amazing at what they do. We’ve seen so much growth & this has also helped boost her confidence.
The Academy hosts many great events throughout the year. Thanks to “Bring a Friend Day”, we learned about this place & switched over. They also have an excellent After School Program, in which I currently help out in. I love being a part of this family!

The Academy is truly a special place. I honestly was very hesitant to start my child in karate because I knew it would be a very big commitment but he was very persistent that he wanted to try karate and it had to be at The Academy because that's where all his friends always talked about going because they loved it so much. From his very first lesson my son has displayed true dedication to improving and growing in his karate skills. He is like a different child when he's on the mat ... completely focused, respectful, dedicated, attentive, and he pushes himself to be his best. Those skills are coming across in other areas of his life as well now as he wants to pursue his track to black belt. He absorbs many life lessons taught at The Academy and they come back around in everyday life as well. I'm so happy with our choice to become a member of The Academy family!

Any expectations I could have had when starting my son at The Academy almost a year ago have been surpassed in every way. I *thought* he would learn some things about modeling respect and self-discipline. I *figured* he’d enjoy the empowerment of the physical component of martial arts. What I didn’t fully appreciate beforehand was the extent to which he’d become part of such a proactive, intentional, community-minded team that is The Academy.
The little things make a big impact at The Academy. I see it every time we are there, and it was true for us too – new students being approached by an instructor or staff member offering help tying their belt and making sure they were comfortable getting where they need to go. A guaranteed friendly greeting and high five/fist bump every time kids walk in the door and line up for class. Added encouragement for students having a tough time jumping in to participate or struggling with a training module. Excitement for recognizing student birthdays and training milestones… (and there is just something about that collective “Cowabunga!” with the Little Ninjas) 😊 These things that make kids feel seen and like they matter cannot be undervalued and I so appreciate the environment created by The Academy staff.
It’s not just what the Black Belt instructors and Academy staff do; it’s also the opportunities provided for kids on and off the mat to develop themselves as individuals and #differencemakers in the community, not to mention allowing kids to get to know their fellow students and Black Belt instructors better outside of class time. The Academy team successfully exemplifies and helps students reflect the core values of respect, discipline, integrity, and excellence in class, in their home/school lives and beyond.
I highly recommend The Academy – it is a phenomenal training facility for martial arts, but it’s also so much more than what you might *think*, *figure* or *expect* it will be.
